karyatulisku.com – Daftar pustaka merupakan suatu bagian dari karya ilmiah yang berisi sumber-sumber dalam teriptanya karya ilmiah tersebut. Terdapat dua jenis gaya dalam membuat daftar pustaka, yaitu APA dan CMS style. Kali ini kita akan membahas mengenai apa itu daftar pustaka APA style, dan bagaimana cara menulisnya.

Pengertian APA Style

Daftar Pustaka adalah tulisan yang tersusun di akhir sebuah karya ilmiah yang berisi nama penulis, judul tulisan, penerbit, identitas penerbit dan tahun terbit sebagai sumber atau rujukan seorang penulis. Terdapat beberapa sebutan lain dari daftar pustaka yaitu, referensi, rujukan, pranala atau sumber pustaka.

Daftar pustaka ini biasanya memiliki fungsi untuk menunjukkan bahwa tulisan yang dibuat bersifat ilmiah. Jika suatu karya tulis tidak mencantumkan sumber, maka validitasnya akan berkurang. Sumber juga penting untuk menjabarkan fakta, mendukung argumen, dan melampirkan bukti dari karya penulis lain. Selain itu, membuat daftar pustaka juga penting untuk menghindari plagiarisme, dan merupakan bentuk apresiasi terhadap penulis.

Terdapat dua gaya dalam penulisan daftar pustaka, yakni APA (American Psychological Association Style) dan MLA (Modern Language Association). Namun, salah satu gaya penulisan daftar pustaka yang banyak digunakan oleh satuan pendidikan adalah APA Style. APA Style adalah gaya penulisan daftar pustaka yang dikeluarkan oleh organisasi APA. Berdasarkan laman resmi APA.org, tujuan penggunaan gaya ini yaitu untuk membantu pemahaman dalam bidang ilmu sosial dan perilaku.

Cara Menulis Daftar Pustaka

Terdapat beberapa ketentuan dalam menuliskan sebuah daftar pustaka, secara umum cara menuliskan daftar pustaka adalah sebagai berikut:

  • Daftar pustaka memuat keterangan dari sumber rujukan yaitu nama penulis, tahun terbitan, judul karya ilmiah, kota penerbit, dan nama penerbit.
  • Penulisan nama pengarang pertama dan seterusnya: nama belakang/keluarga diikuti dengan inisial nama depan dan tengah (jika ada), serta tidak perlu mencantumkan gelar dari penulis.
  • Hanya huruf pertama dari judul karya atau judul tambahan ditulis menggunakan huruf kapital.
  • Daftar pustaka disusun sesuai dengan urutan alfabet dari nama belakang masing-masing penulis.
  • Penulisan daftar pustaka juga tidak memakai penomoran. 
  • Pada sumber online, tuliskan secara lengkap URL nya dengan cara menuliskan kata “retrieved from” atau “diakses dari” sebelum URL dan tidak dituliskan tanggal akses (tanggal unduh atau melihat web tersebut).
  • Untuk Prosiding yang diakses secara online maka gantikan kota terbit dan penerbit dengan nomor DOI (Digital Object Identifier) atau URL, seperti dalam artikel jurnal online.
  • Kemudian nama negara dari kota terbit dituliskan setelah kota terbit dan dipisahkan dengan tanda koma.
  • Tidak ada kata yang digarisbawahi, termasuk juga URL
  • Penulisan daftar pustaka harus sesuai dengan ketentuan instansi yang menjadi wadah penulisan karya.

Contoh dan Format Penulisan Daftar Pustaka APA Style

Dalam menulis sebuah karya tentunya kita membutuhkan banyak sumber sebagai referensi. Setiap sumber tentunya memiliki format penulisan yang berbeda-beda. Berikut merupakan format penulisan daftar pustaka dengan APA Style berdasarkan sumbernya :

1. Buku

8. Materi Perkuliahan

Bagi mahasiswa, kadang-kadang materi perkuliahan digunakan sebagai acuan referensi dalam tulisan ilmiah. Padahal, biasanya materi kuliah tersebut tidak diterbitkan secara formal seperti buku dan jurnal (tidak mempunyai nomor ISBN). Jika materi tersebut berupa artikel jurnal atau bagian dari buku (booksection) maka tulislah sumber kutipan dan daftar pustaka seperti yang sudah dijabarkan di atas. Jika tidak, maka berikut ini adalah beberapa kategorinya.

  • Handouts
    Handout yang diberikan selama perkuliahan, tutorial, atau kunjungan lapangan, tuliskan sebagai “unpublished paper presented at a meeting” dalam daftar pustaka
